Note: I was introduced this fly while I was a counselor at a Trout Unlimited Youth Camp in Solon, Maine. It is amazing to see the difference in flies from different states and this fly is a prime example. I had never heard of this fly or seen anything like it before I was introduced to it but even novice fly fishers from Maine were very familiar with this fly. I brought it back home to the streams of New Jersey and Pennsylvania and have had much success with it. When the fly is wet the red under body shows through and gives the fly a very unique appearance. I can't recall a day where fish, especially stockies, could resist this fly.
